Oslob Whaleshark Watching
First up on our agenda for the day was – Whaleshark Watching in Oslob. We were staying at Oslob New Village Lodge, not far for the whalesharks. That morning we left at around 6:45am and arrived at 7am.
As you can see from the photo below, the place was already packed when we got there. So do try to get there early since it closes at noon.
Once we had arrived we headed straight for registration P500 for locals and P1,000 for foreigners (a little weird to me that there a huge difference in the price).

After registering and paying, everyone must go to the safety briefing. No sunblock, touching of the whales, listen to your guides, etc. etc.
30 minutes maximum per boat!

This was actually my second time coming here, first time I went was when my friends and I took a day trip to Oslob from Dumaguete. Will post the blog soon!
I really had fun here and it was so amazing to see the whalesharks / butandings 🙂 Struggle is real when trying to get a photo with one of them but I think I got a few nice ones 😛
It’s even harder to take a group photo. Hahaha!
Also remember to look all around you when you’re in the water. There were a few times when I was swimming around the I turn around and a whaleshark was swimming towards me. Hahaha!
Sumilon Island
Since you only get 30 mins with the whalesharks we finished quite early – at around 8am. Check out wasn’t until 12pm so we decided to go to Sumilon Island which is also close by.

Ice Candy for sale! P12 each. I got Fruit Salad flavor. Yum!!
Top of Cebu
After spending the first half of our day in Oslob, we checked out of our apartment and headed for the city. Once in the city we checked in first to our Hostel – Island Breeze Hostel. We got a triple room for Php 1,058.62 for the night. Btw we booked our accommodations through Agoda.
After settling in we went our for dinner. Just a few blocks away from our hostel we found some habal-habals who were willing to take us to the Top of Cebu restaurant. We paid P700 for 3 people (two motorbikes), to and from.

We ordered way to much! Their servings sizes are quite large. The food was good! But definitely come for the view <3
