Exploring Eilat Blog – From Wadi Rum (full blog here), we were dropped off by our driver to the border to Eilat, Israel. The process was very easy! Once we were out we took a taxi out to our hotel, Sunset Inn. Click the button below to keep reading.

Sunset Inn Hotel
It was a very quick ride from the border, about 10-15 minutes. When we arrived we quite early for check-in which was at 2pm and unfortunately we couldn’t check in early because it was full, but thankfully the owner of the hotel let us leave our luggage while we went out and explored the neighborhood a little a got some lunch!
Here’s some of the photos I took of our hotel. I love the vibe! We booked through booking.com and there are more photos here,
We really didn’t have any itinerary for Eilat, we just stayed here for a night because we were going to Egypt the next day (I’ll write about this next!), so we were just strolling around and we ended by the beach / boardwalk. There are quite a lot of stores, malls, hotels and activities in the area so it looks likes like a vacation spot for Israelis.
Glass Bottom Boat Cruise
While we were strolling along the boardwalk, we came across someone that was advertising a “Glass Bottom Boat” tour and since we didn’t have any plans we thought we’d try it out. Tickets were 50 shekels each or about Php 716 and most of the passengers were little kids and their parents. The cruise was uneventful and sad to say, but the corals were veryyyyy disappointing (see third pic) but the sunset view of the water was nice 🌅😍
Where did we eat?
Shawarma Pilpel (שווארמה פלפל)
Café (מפגש השייח אילת)
This is the café that was just a few minutes walk from our hotel, we would buy a lot chocolate babka’s and breads here. So yummmmmmmy!
Overall, I enjoyed Eilat! We were about to just relax here, enjoy the sunshine and the food. Glad we were able to stay here for a few days. And I love the location, walking distance to basically everything you need 🙂
