Take a few minutes walk from Ohori Park and you’ll find yourself at the Fukuoka Castle Ruins inside Maizuru Park. A lot history in the area as previously being known as the largest castle in Kyushu during the Edo Period (1603 to 1867).

Ohori Park

For our first full touring day in Fukuoka, Japan we thought it would be fun to visit Ohori Park. Read some reviews on line that it was a nice place to stroll around. There is also a separate Japanese garden that you can check out, I’ll post a separate blog about it in the next few days.

Canal City Mall

Canal City Mall

Our flight from Busan to Fukuoka was only 45 minuts; we landed around 2pm. Took the Fukuoka airport shuttle to Hakata Station. From there we walked to our Airbnb, had a little rest and headed out around 6pm for our first look around Fukuoka, Japan!

I saw on Google Maps (life saver!) that Canal City Mall was nearby, so we walked there and checked it out on our first night. Click the link below to see more of this beautiful mall!
