My London Bucketlist

It’s a beautiful afternoon and I’m sitting on my bed looking outside at the sun, quietly reminiscing the 2 degrees Celsius London weather we had when we were there last March. It was a dream come true and I got to check off so many things on my bucket list! So just to cap off my London series here they are:

  • Go to Kings Cross Station and take a picture at Platform 9 3/4

We didn’t have enough time to see the Warner Brothers Hogwarts Tour but at least we got to see this! We were at the station early morning so there was no line to get our pictures taken. And once the Harry Potter store opens you can get your pictures taken professionally with a robe and wand!

  • Visit St. Paul’s Cathedral

A beautiful cathedral! This was our first stop in London. If you want to read more click here for my full post πŸ˜€

  • Take a photo with the famous Tower Bridge
  • Cruise along the Thames River

My family and I took the river cruise boat along the Thames River going to the London Eye. Unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to see the Tower Bridge either but at least I got to see it in person. Hehe πŸ˜€

  • Go on the London Eye

Definitely a must when in London for the first time. It was pretty cloudy when we went but the view was still amazing! A lot of people recommend going during sunset! Read more about my adventure to the London Eye here.

  • Eat aΒ traditional full English breakfast

YUM! AΒ traditional full English breakfast includes bacon,Β fried, poached or scrambled eggs, fried or grilled tomatoes, fried mushrooms, fried bread or toast with butter, sausages. The only things my meal was missing was fried mushrooms and bacon! It was still delicious though πŸ˜›

  • Take a slightly cheesy yet classic photo with a red telephone booth

I couldn’t leave London without a picture with a red telephone booth! Hahaha. It’s classic London photo that I had to have! πŸ˜› Good thing my mum and I went looking for one just before our train to Paris. It wasn’t the nicest one either, a little smelly and a tad dirty. I also got a few weird looks from the locals. Hahaha!

  • See Big Ben and the parliament buildings in person

Ahhh. Finally got to see this in person! I’m sure the first time people think of when they hear “London” is Big Ben! Such a beautiful sight <3

  • Visit Westminster Abbey

Another famous London attraction! It was beautiful on the inside (and outside too!) but there was no photography allowed inside. Check out my recent blog post of Westminster Abbey here.

A lot of people recommended seeing the changing of the guards but we didn’t get to see it! It was still nice to see this though. Check out my full blog post here.

I also wanna have a glance at the MI5 building (James Bond!) and watch a live football match between Chelsea and Manchester United. πŸ™‚

  3. It’s been ages since I was last in London but I will be back there in 2018. I’ve done many of these but The Hubs will be a first timer so we will have to done some again, including the eye. You breakfast looks delicious but I always have issues with sausages in the UK as they are pork (which I don’t eat) as opposed to the beef I am used to at home. I have never made it to Kings Cross station but need a photo at platform 9 3/4 next time!

    1. I have a NZ passport so no visa required. Or has it changed now after the Brexit? But yes I also heard from a few of friends that it was pretty tedious.

  7. You look really happy on your trip! I can feel the excitement you had. Westminister Abbey looks a lot like Notre Dame in my opinion . Thanks for sharing your experience!

  9. For your English breakfast stop I REALLY recommend Speedy’s Cafe by Euston Station. It’s small, but it is AMAZING. It’s my favorite spot and the full English there is simply delicious. This is a solid bucket list for London!

  10. Next time you come to London you should get out of the touristy area and go and explore the less known but beautiful neighborhoods. I love spending time in Shoreditch, a very hip place with a very active art scene, lots of cafes and community projects. Also, I recommend you to go and get a glimpse of the city at sunset from one of the skyscrapers of The City. I love SushiSamaba in Heron Tower and the SkyGarden, in the Walkie Talkie tower.

    1. That’s exactly my plan Joanna hehe. Can’t wait to go back to London! I’d also love to visit the remote country areas of England πŸ˜€ Any places you recommend other than London?

  16. Ah London, it is also my dream to go there, and now that I’ve been to Universal Studios Japan and saw the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, my next mission is to go to the Harry Potter world in England. 17. Happy for you that you get to accomplish your bucket list. The platform 9 3/4, London Eye and Big Ben are also on my bucket list. Thanks to you I get to add more things on my list. Excited to go around Europe with my Yogo in the future.

  18. London is definitely in my bucket list… I hope I can afford it one day! It’s so expensive but I have a feeling it will be worth it. πŸ™‚ Even a photo with the red phone booth will be super exciting, for sure! And I’m definitely taking that London to Paris train!

One of the places not to miss in visiting London, at least for me. Not really a potter fan but I love the movie and the 3 besties! hahahah

  21. Cool! This is the fave place of my girl, London. I will surely add these things from your bucketlist to mine. My goal is to go here before I turn 30 years old. Hihihi!
